CONTROL Resonant

Digital launch September 24, 2026

Dylan Faden fighting red Hiss forms on a wet Manhattan street

Steam still: orange melee light against red Hiss bodies in the rain.

CONTROL Resonant is Remedy Entertainment's action-adventure RPG sequel to CONTROL, Steam app 3669870. Dylan Faden leaves Federal Bureau of Control confinement for a ravaged Manhattan, where gravity anomalies twist streets into cover, weapons, and dead ends. Jesse Faden — FBC Director and Dylan's sister — is missing while the Hiss, the Mold, and a cosmic entity rewrite the city. Dylan fights with the Aberrant, a shapeshifting melee weapon that becomes a two-handed hammer or dual-wielded blades. Digital launch is September 24, 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Steam and Epic Games Store. Start as Dylan Faden, learn the Aberrant, then hit that September window.

Launch Trailer

Remedy's Launch Trailer is the watch target for the warped Manhattan night and Dylan's close-range fights. Chapters are not published on the trailer page, so the player here is the verified title and the official YouTube file. Altered State sits further down the page if you want a second official look at the city after the Hiss light takes the street.

The CONTROL sequel you play as Dylan

CONTROL (2019) kept Jesse Faden inside the Oldest House. CONTROL Resonant sends her brother out. Steam product copy and Remedy's June 2026 news both name Dylan Faden as the playable lead; the June post is explicit that he is the only playable character. He spent years as an FBC captive. The Bureau now deploys him into Manhattan because threats have already spilled beyond the Oldest House lockdown.

The job on the street is personal and institutional at once. Jesse is FBC Director and Dylan's missing sister. A mysterious cosmic entity is rewriting reality while chaotic Hiss resonance and the Mold — an invasive micro-organism — take the city. Dylan has to master new powers, keep his humanity, and fight through ravaged districts instead of Bureau corridors. If you need the 2019 recap before that drop, the FBC page points at Remedy's Previously on CONTROL video. That recap is five minutes; the sequel still starts on the street.

Warped Manhattan and the Aberrant

The sequel leaves the Oldest House interiors for ravaged Manhattan. Steam describes gravity anomalies that distort the vertical and horizontal plane, used for traversal, puzzles, and combat, plus multiple city areas and perception-bending spaces. Official screenshots show wet asphalt, teal haze, and buildings rotated off true. That is the visual engine of the game, not a skybox behind another Oldest House floor.

Melee is the sequel's combat identity. The Aberrant is Dylan's shapeshifting melee weapon. Steam names a two-handed hammer for bone-crunching blows and dual-wielded blades for swift precision. Gameplay news adds Resonants as the biggest, toughest enemies — the reason for the subtitle. Assist Mode later lets you retune aggression, dodge windows, projectiles, and damage without gating trophies, so the street difficulty is a slider set, not a hidden lock.

September 24 platforms, editions, and PC

Worldwide digital launch is September 24, 2026. Steam pre-load opens 24 hours earlier from 7 AM PT. Remedy's article lists PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store on that day, with a Mac build through Steam and the App Store later in 2026, plus GeForce NOW at launch. Steam US price is $59.99 for the standard package (ID 1292777) and $69.99 for Digital Deluxe (ID 1616852).

Digital Deluxe adds a digital artbook, original soundtrack, Untapped Artifact (Wallet), Starter Resource Bundle, and AWE Mission Outfit. Pre-order unlocks the Hiss Corruption Outfit and Pickpocket's Tool Artifact. Japanese official press adds 48-hour early access on the PS5 Digital Deluxe SKU. PC minimum is a GTX 1070-class GPU, 16 GB RAM, and a 120 GB SSD; official news adds NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 and path tracing. Compare SKUs on Editions, specs on PC specs, and the dated timeline on Launch.

Steam still showed the product as coming soon when those packages were read, even with a September 24 date on the store. Pre-load from 7 AM PT on September 23 is the practical download beat. GeForce NOW is listed for launch day cloud play if a local GPU misses the table. Mac via Steam and the App Store is a later-2026 follow-up, not a silent checkbox on the Windows row.

Where to go after the hub

Start as Dylan Faden if you need the playable-lead lock, Jesse's Director title, and the three-beat first-hours brief. Learn the Aberrant if you need hammer versus blades before a Resonant. Hit Launch if you need September 24, 7 AM PT pre-load, and the fifteen-language list. Manhattan, Resonants, the Gap, FBC, Assist Mode, New Game+, Editions, and PC specs sit on the same header rail in that order.
