Artifacts and Talents
the Gap

The Gap is the dreamlike metaphysical space where CONTROL Resonant crafts Untapped Artifacts, sitting beside Talents as the other half of Dylan Faden's published progression. Official New Game+ notes tie that space to Dylan Faden's psyche. Talents and Artifacts are the two progression nouns sitting next to it: Talents are spent as paranatural growth, Artifacts are found in the world and finished in the Gap. Steam also names a deep progression system without dumping a talent tree. The write-up stays on those published pieces. No full Artifact table exists, so the honest length is a kit explanation, not a fake spreadsheet.
A space tied to Dylan, not a fast-travel lobby
New Game+ news describes the Gap as a dreamlike space connected to Dylan's psyche. Untapped Artifacts are discovered in the world and crafted there. That is a crafting room with story weight, not a pause menu with fog. If a guide treats the Gap like a vendor kiosk you ping between fights, it is flattening the only metaphysical claim Remedy actually printed.
The inverted paranatural still above is the visual match: a space that does not share Manhattan's remaining up. Pair it with the warped city page so you can tell outdoor gravity anomalies from the Gap. One is a street that folded. The other is inside Dylan. Both will kill you if you read them as corridors.

Artifacts, including the deluxe Wallet
Artifacts are found as Untapped pieces in the world and finished in the Gap. Digital Deluxe includes an Untapped Artifact named Wallet as part of the $69.99 package, which tells you Artifacts are loadout items with proper names, not abstract XP. Pre-order adds Pickpocket's Tool Artifact. Those two named extras are the entire first-party Artifact catalog published before launch.
New Game+ adds a fourth Artifact slot. The first run therefore has three. Plan deluxe and pre-order pickups around that cap instead of around an unpublished collection checklist. Same-Resonant ability stacking in New Game+ is the other half of the endgame kit; Artifacts are the object half, Talents the node half.

Talents as the paranatural layer
Talents persist into New Game+ with Aberrant upgrades, combat abilities, Artifacts, and health upgrades. Extra talent nodes unlock on the second run. Steam's store copy calls out a deep progression system without showing the tree. Until a node map is official, treat Talents as the spendable paranatural layer attached to Dylan, not as a public skill calculator.
Assist Mode's Power Recovery Speed slider is the closest published control for how fast supernatural resources refill. It is not a Talent. It is an accessibility axis you can move both easier and harder without losing trophies. Use it if the Gap-facing kit feels starved, then spend actual Talent choices when the tree is in your hands on September 24.
Digital Deluxe's Wallet and the pre-order Pickpocket's Tool are the only Artifact proper names on a store page. Everything else is an Untapped drop you finish in the Gap. A first run has three slots; New Game+ makes four. That cap is the planning number. A public Artifact encyclopedia would require Remedy to publish the rest of the names.
Three slots, then four
Plan Deluxe's Wallet and the pre-order Pickpocket's Tool against a three-slot first run. New Game+ is when the fourth hole opens. If both extras land on day one, one ordinary Untapped drop already fills the cap until the second run. That is the only loadout math the published Artifact names support.
Talents persist with those Artifacts. Extra talent nodes arrive with the fourth slot. Same-Resonant stacking arrives with them. The Gap still crafts whatever Untapped pieces you find after that. Power Recovery Speed on Assist Mode is the refill slider for the supernatural resources those systems spend. It is easier-only and does not void trophies.
